MEET COLE

Cole’s story shares the persistence and resilience that TCDP needs for success.

He grew up in South Texas — barely graduating High School. Living at home. No clear plan for what was next.
But he found his footing at Austin Community College, gaining the skills he needed to build a better future.
Through support from his community, he turned living on the margins into a career committed to helping others get brought together from outside the electoral system.

From working at UT Austin’s Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life in 2013 where he served on Vote Smart’s policy research program, helping breakdown policy education for everyday voters, he worked 3 session in the Texas House of Representatives on workforce, housing affordability, and voting rights policy, and finally – he received a Masters from Harvard University specializing in policy reforms for higher education access and economic mobility.
Through it all, he saw firsthand how policy — good and bad — shaped the lives of people around him, and how inspired to vote people can be when they see how their government affects them.
Now, Cole’s spent years organizing voters, mentoring the next generation of leaders, and fighting to make sure Travis County works for everyone.
As TCDP Chair, he’ll bring the same tenacity to building a party that leaves no voter, no precinct, and no election behind.
Because Cole doesn’t just believe in organizing — he’s lived it.And when it comes to electing Democrats, you can count on Cole.
